Written : Thursday 17th Jul 25The past couple of months have been very busy for our social and competitive touch rugby teams. Returning to Stoke Park for summer training the social team has had enough players to need 2 pitches every Wednesdays evenings. This season the club bar has also been open after every Wednesday training, for a bit of social time, an initiative led by Rose Tongue.
The competitive team is in the middle of the National Touch Series (NTS). This year Surrey Bisons fielded a men, women and mixed teams. The women’s team had a particularly great season, wining the plate after an injury took the team from 9 to 8 players. This achievement has come after the club introduced women’s only training this season, every Wednesdays from 6 to 7pm at Stoke park, coached by Chris Ondrusz.
The mixed team after being promoted last year to division 3, made it to the plate final in the first round and the 5/6th playoffs in the second round. Both finals were conceided to Notingham sheriffs and Horsham tigers respectively. But the team has one final round in two weeks to finalise their ranking. Third time the charm?
