Written : Tuesday 27th Feb 24Surrey Bisons participated in the 4th and final round of the South East Development Touch Series down in Horsham on the 24th of February.
Building on the success of the previous three rounds Bisons had a tough start to the day playing the eventual runners up Horsham's in the first of three pool matches, Bisons just pipped in a scrappy affair on a very muddy pitch, after it was onto the flat artificial grass pitch for the next pool match and against Southampton, in a tight and cagey affair it took a last second interception length of the field try on Bisons debut from Callum to take a 4-3 win.
Then it was onto the final pool game against London Scorpions and after a strong start to the first half from Bisons, Scorpions came back strong in the second half and were just a little better. Qualifying for the plate Bisons had two knockout games ahead of them, the first was against London Eagles Black and after a superb performance from each and every Bisons player, the result was a 6-0 win for the Bisons.
The final game of the day was the Plate Final where Bisons played Southampton again in a rematch, like the previous game the result was 4-3 but sadly Bisons were on the wrong end and finished runners up in the Plate.
A huge well done to everyone who represented Bisons across the four rounds and the results were an improvement on the previous 12 months.
