Rugby is back
Created : 4th Dec 20
We are delighted to confirm that, following the Government announcements about the end of the recent lockdown in England and the RFU detailed guidance received in the last couple of days, we can get back onto the rugby pitch and into the training sessions. It has been confirmed that we are moving to Stage E, which also permits contact and a move to an adapted 15-a-side game for seniors, with competitive fixtures.

The final details of regular activities by section will be communicated by the section leadership and head coaches over the next couple of days. (The Christmas close date for the Juniors is yet to be confirmed.)

In memory of Paul Garrad, a popular Guildfordians player and volunteer for over two decades who sadly passed away recently, the fixtures will be played as The Paul Garrad Memorial Double Header.
The timings will be as follows:
13:00 KO - 1st Team v Woking
14:00 KO - 2nd Team v Guildfordians Vets
There will be a minute’s silence held before each game for both Paul and those lost during the COVID-19 pandemic. Spectators are welcome but will be asked to comply strictly with social distancing requirements as in force at the time.
